    XR12 USB REcording Levels

    Hi,

Still getting to grips with the XR12 but loving it. When recording using the usb I have vocals and backing track, the mix is fine but on the recording the vocals are substainially higher in the mix. Almost too much. Any Idea's?

Here is the scene. I generally use the Ipad version live but this is from X Air edit.

    Thanks,

I can't see any reason for the difference in vocal levels between live and recorded, Chris. You are recording Main LR Pre EQ but there is so little EQ in LR that it shouldn't make much difference.

Perhaps the apparent level difference is that the mono vocals will be more solidly in the centre than the stereo backing track. This would depend on how you are listening to the recorded tracks.

One possible solution is to build a second mix on two linked buses (say 5 & 6) with reduced vocal levels and record from the Buses instead of Main LR.
