    Fan Noise on my Trirec

    Hi, first post here,

I bought a trirec second hand a couple of months ago, and it is about three years old. I works really well, really love the sound for heavy metal.

Recently I started to make a noise when operating for a long time, and I saw it was the fan that was creating the noise.

Here is a link to a video of the problem.

I tried to demount the fan and clean it but it did not help.

Hi Yngve, welcome to the forum!

Just by the description and video you've shared here I would say this fan sounds rather normal. In fact they are a there to help disperse excess heat from the heatsink of your TRIREC over long periods of time and prevent overheating. During normal use when the amp heats up this fan also ramps up to help remove the excess heat being generated.

So it makes sense when you've stopped playing after the amp has warmed up (and the fan is trying to keep the amp cool) that it's more noticeable. Best way to alleviate that? Rock out some more!
